The subject of this painting is a walled garden and all of the creatures that live within it. I used a photo that I took at the walled garden at the Eleanor Cabot Bradley Estate in Canton Massachusetts. Within the walls of the garden, everything was perfectly manicured, almost too perfect. It felt almost as though they were keeping nature out! This painting is of all of the creatures that live outside the walls, It seems almost like they are guarding the walled garden and everything within.
